Over three months from March to May 2022, we completed a busduct temperature monitoring expansion for an OO production line at an OO Display site.
The work added a 16-channel DTS unit in the line's electrical room, integrated the line's electrical room and FAB busducts into the existing monitoring system, and received power measurements for each busduct from a PLC.
The expanded system monitors more than 100 km of optical cable and over 100,000 temperature measurement points.
Power measurements are acquired automatically alongside temperature readings to analyze temperature changes caused by load changes. Ambient temperatures are also measured at more than 18 locations, and differences between ambient and busduct temperatures are reported automatically.
The system monitors cooling caused by water leakage as well as overheating. Cable installed inside tap-off boxes measures differences associated with individual loads. Monitoring covers feeders, joints and tap-off boxes, with custom protective fittings at joints to improve monitoring performance and reliability.
All monitored facilities are represented in full 3D, including both electrical rooms and FAB busducts, so operators can quickly identify equipment and overheating locations.
As with the previous system, monitoring began during initial energization to verify equipment and installation quality.
Topics: busduct and power monitoring, full 3D monitoring, internal tap-off box monitoring. Illustrations show floor-by-floor temperature and power monitoring, tap-off boxes and a 3D electrical room view.
