From February to November 2020, we jointly developed and installed a groundwater monitoring system with the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences at OO University.
The research project investigated the use of groundwater for heating and cooling and was developed to monitor groundwater flow at depths of approximately 40 to 60 meters.
The previous sensors measured temperature at ten-meter intervals. The new system measures continuously at one-meter intervals, 24 hours a day, without a fixed limit on the monitoring period, making groundwater flow monitoring possible.
The system provides temperature measurement accuracy within 0.3 degrees Celsius and simultaneously monitors groundwater in boreholes, supply and discharge wells, and the ground surface.
Topics: groundwater temperature monitoring, borehole monitoring and groundwater temperature changes. Illustrations show the monitoring screen, a 3D view and examples of temperature changes.
