We completed a busduct temperature monitoring system at an OO Display site over six months, from June to December 2020. The system monitors busduct equipment from the electrical rooms to the FAB.
Power measurements are collected alongside busduct temperatures to analyze whether temperature increases result from changes in load. Ambient temperatures are also acquired automatically at more than 80 locations, enabling automatic comparison between busduct temperatures and the surrounding environment.
The system detects temperature decreases associated with water leakage as well as overheating. Fiber optic cable was installed inside tap-off boxes to monitor temperature differences associated with their individual loads, enabling temperature-based observation of power usage at each box.
3D monitoring helps operators quickly recognize equipment and overheating locations in complex electrical rooms. The system was also used from initial energization to verify correct busduct installation and contributed to improvements in installation work.
Topics: busduct temperature monitoring, power monitoring, 3D temperature monitoring and internal tap-off box temperature monitoring.
Illustrations: floor-by-floor temperature and power monitoring; tap-off box temperature monitoring; and a captured 3D electrical room screen.
