In February 2023, we installed a temperature monitoring system for 154 kV extra-high-voltage cables at S Power Station.

Fiber optic sensing cables were installed along power cables in the utility tunnel between the generating facilities and the yard. Each phase is monitored separately.

Functions include phase-by-phase temperature measurement, multiple alarm levels including caution and fire, measurement at one-meter intervals, automatic temperature rise trend monitoring, alarms based on detected fire extent, identification of fire location as it progresses, monitoring through DTS equipment, the database server and clients, zone-based alarm management, storage and retrieval of overheating events, and DCS integration.
