In January 2022, we installed a temperature monitoring system for extra-high-voltage cables running from a KEPCO substation to the yard of Company L's receiving substation, which supplies a high power demand.

The existing power cables contained integrated optical fibers. We connected two fibers for each phase to build the monitoring system.

The display clearly shows temperature differences between road manholes and directly buried sections. The project again demonstrated that existing power cables with integrated optical fibers can be connected to DTS through relatively simple connection work.
