Since 2018, we have installed temperature monitoring systems for DC busducts in Seoul Subway substations and electrical rooms. From November 2022 through May 2023, installations continued for the fifth through eighth sites as part of new station construction and substation improvement work.
We jointly researched DC busduct monitoring with Seoul Metro and obtained a patent. The system is being applied to newly constructed subway substations and electrical rooms.
Temperature sensors are installed at each joint on the positive and negative busducts. Data is collected automatically, stored on a server and displayed in 3D. Alarm events are transmitted immediately to Seoul Metro's DCS.
Subway operation creates brief periods of high power demand. The design addresses electromagnetic effects on sensors and monitoring equipment and has demonstrated stable operation for more than five years.
At the end of the previous year, the system detected overheating associated with equipment and installation quality in a new busduct installation. The issue was corrected through reinstallation.
Topics: DC busducts, Seoul Subway and Seoul Metro substations and electrical rooms, DCS alarm transmission and full 3D monitoring.
